The next two beds needed to be low to the ground to fit in to a teepee. I used locally grown oak. The 6 inch beams were only half dried and weighed a ton. Cracks and splits will increase over time adding even more character to this minimalist design. Here are a few photos of the first one being made:

The head rests were epoxied in place with threaded steel rod surrounded by chrome steel tubing.
